THE LAWRENCE HIGH SCHOOL Class of 1969 will celebrate its 30-year reunion with a gathering that will start at 5 p.m. July 2 at Johnny's Tavern, 401 N. Second. The Lonnie Ray Blues Band will provide entertainment for the evening.

WANDA R. SIEBER will celebrate her 80th birthday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. June 26 with a reception at the Fellowship Hall of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3655 W. 10th, Lawrence. She requests no gifts, but cards and well wishes are welcomed at the reception or at her home, 1505 Cadet Ave. The event will be hosted by her children.

SHELLY ANN MAAS, Lawrence, has been named to Johnson County Community College's spring 1999 honor roll.

MARK FRANCIS WATSON, Eudora, has been named to the spring Dean's Honor Roll at Independence Community College, Independence, Kan.

JULIA LICIA PAGANO, Lawrence has received a $2,400 Scholarship for New Nebraskans at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She is majoring in exercise science.

CHRIS AND DANA HACK, Greenville, S.C., announce the birth of a daughter, Reagan Christian, on June 9, 1999. She joins a sister, Bailey Kay Hack. Grandparents are Al and Julie Hack of Lawrence, Kay Branscome of Greenville, S.C., and Wayne Branscome of Mineola, Tex.

LAWRENCE AREA RESIDENTS who recently graduated from Barton County Community College, Great Bend, are: Farrukh Sheikh and Amber Smith, Lawrence; Brandey Pemberton, Oskaloosa; and Mindy Brown, Ottawa.

CORTNEY HIGGINS, daughter of JoAnne Kondratieff of Lawrence; and Tim Hofer, son of Rod and Roberta Hofer of Lawrence were among students who received all A's during the spring term at Hendrix College, Conway, Ark.

TARA WOLFE has been named to the honor roll at Kansas University, where she earned a 4.0 grade-point average for the spring semester. She is a 1997 graduate of Lawrence High School who is majoring in women's studies and philosophy. She is the daughter of Richard and Judi Wolfe, Lawrence.

CANDICE LAHM, a student at Virgina Tech University at Blacksburg, Va., has been named to the spring Honor Roll.

TYLER HARRISON EPP, Lawrence, has graduated from Davidson College, Davidson, N.C. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Epp, Lawrence, and a graduate of Lawrence High School. He majored in English and played Division I varsity tennis for four years. He won the Southern Conference Championship during his sophomore year.

BRANDY SHOEMAKER, a graduate of Ottawa High School, has been named a Presidential Scholar at Ottawa University.

ADAM FRANZ, a sophomore at Bethel College, North Newton, has received an undergraduate research award. Franz, who is from Lawrence, is analyzing brain activity involved in memorization.

THESE AREA STUDENTS have been named to the Allen County Community College Honor Roll. Those with grade-point averages of 3.0 to 3.49 are Louisa Guntert, DeSoto; Ryan Halterman, Overbrook; Vincent Schroeder, Baldwin; Arifur Shohel, Lawrence; and Jacob Wright, Baldwin. Students with grade-point averages of 3.5 to 3.99 are Tamatha Butts, Lawrence; Mark Daniels, Overbrook; and Sherry Smith, Eudora. Students with a 4.0 grade-point average are Jennifer Coppoc, Overbrook; and Marianne Eddy and Hillary Klumpe, both of Lawrence.

ZAC HAMLIN, Eudora High School, and Catie Johnson, Free State High School, attended the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Seminar June 4-6 in Manhattan.

HEATHER SHARP, a junior political science major, was listed on Southwest Baptist University, Bolivar, Mo., spring trustees' list. A 1997 graduate of Lawrence High School, Sharp is the daughter of Glen and Pamela Sharp of Baldwin.

JACOB MONTGOMERY, Lawrence, was named to the Dean's List for the spring semester at Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, N.C.

JALINDA HASKETT, Lawrence, has been named to the spring semester Dean's Honor Roll at Bethany College in Lindsborg.

SAMUEL MILLER, Oskaloosa, a sophomore at Dodge City Community College, has been named to the spring semester President's List for his academic achievements.

KATIE BRUNER, a musical theater major from Lawrence, has been named to the Dean's List at Emerson College, Boston, for the spring semester.

KELLE ROSE, a 1995 Lawrence High School graduate and May 1999 graduate of Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma, Wash., was selected for membership in the PLU Arete Society, an academic society, for her scholastic achievement and commitment to the liberal arts. She is the daughter of Monte and Sharon Rose, Lawrence, and holds a bachelor's degree in Spanish and religion.

CLAYTON KELLY, son of Rita Kelly, has graduated from Graceland College, Lamoni, Iowa, with a degree in nursing.

TIM STEGER, Lawrence, a senior majoring in plastic engineering technology at Pittsburg State University, has received the College of Technology Excellence Scholarship. He is a graduate of Lawrence High School and the son of Jim and Laurie Steger.

TWO LAWRENCE RESIDENTS, Meghan Graham, daughter of Bill and Mary Graham, and Rebecca Demarest, daughter of Kenneth and Susan Demarest, are recipients of Presidential Scholarships at Dordt College, Sioux Center, Iowa. Graham is a graduate of Lawrence High School, where she was involved in music, sports and student council. She was also awarded a Track Athletic Scholarship and a Women's Soccer Athletic Scholarship. Demarest is a graduate of Baldwin High School, where she was involved in student publications, cross country, track and youth leadership.

CHRISTOPHER FRANCISCO, son of Ronald and Deborah Francisco of Lawrence, has been initiated into Phi Beta Kappa honorary. He is a May graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

FRATERNITY PLEDGES at Kansas State University from the area include: Joseph Podrebarac, Basehor, Pi Kappa Alpha; Matthew Dohrn, McLouth, Delta Sigma Phi; and Justin Alhl and Sam Herzog, both of Ottawa, Delta Sigma Phi.

ROBERT RAMP, a junior at Free State High School, attended the American Legion Boys' State of Kansas, June 6-12 on the Kansas State University campus in Manhattan. During the program, Ramp was a member of the City of Church, Eisenhower County.

MATT AND JENNE McWILLIAMS, Charlotte, N.C., announce the birth of a son, Kaiden Gehrig, on June 1, 1999. Grandparents are Terry and Deanna McWilliams and J.D. and Sharon Cleavinger, all of Lawrence.

SULAIMAN AL-REESH, Lawrence, has been named to the Dean's List for the spring semester at Marietta College, Marietta, Ohio.

BOB AND MONICA LEMMONS, Lawrence, announce the birth of a son, Austin Clay Lemmons, on May 31, 1999, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. He joins a brother, Brett, 7. Maternal grandparents are Don and Shirley Lawrence, Bonner Springs, and paternal grandparents are Mike and Rosemary Lemmons, Eudora. Francis and Berniece Born, Eudora, are great-grandparents.

SCOTT AND LESLIE TUMMONS, Lawrence, announce the birth of a daughter, Madilynn Belle Tummons, on May 26, 1999, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. She joins a brother, Wyatt Tummons. Grandparents are Don and Virginia Tummons, Lawrence; Larry and Becky Anderson, Amarillo, Tex.; and Bob and Phyllis Jeffers, Pampa, Tex.

PATRICK SCOTT COURTEMANCHE, Douglasville, Ga., has received his Eagle Scout award. Patrick, 14, is the son of Scott and Ronda Courtemanche, Douglasville, and the grandson of Bill and Desda Combs, Lawrence.

RYAN BRANDT has graduated from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa. He earned a master of science in physical therapy and was inducted into the Alpha Eta honor society. He is a 1992 graduate of Lawrence High School and a 1996 graduate of Kansas University. He is the son of Bob Brandt and Shirley Brandt, both of Lawrence. He has joined Bird Physical Therapy, Lawrence.

A TOTAL OF 73 PEOPLE attended a reunion of descendants of Asa and Phebe (Watson) Richardson, who were pioneers to Lawrence in 1870s. The event, last Sunday at the Union Pacific Depot and Visitors Center, attracted family members from Oregon, Wisconsin, Arkansas and Nebraska. Family historian Margaret Wulfkuhle reported that the descendants of Asa and Phebe Richardson now number more than 1,000. The oldest living family member attending was Helen (Hired) Afflick of Oregon, and the youngest members, not in attendance, were a set of twin boys born June 11, 1999, to Harold Edward Hudson III, Lawrence.

ERICA A. WULFKUHLE, daughter of John and Fran Wulfkuhle, Lawrence, was named to the Dean's Honor Roll this semester at Creighton University in Omaha, Neb. She is a senior majoring in psychology who will graduate in December.

JOSE M. LARIOS, Lawrence, has earned a bachelor's degree from Colby College. He is the son of Jose Larios and Harriet Larios, both of Lawrence. He was named to the Dean's list, and majored in biology with a concentration in cell and molecular biology/biochemistry.

CHRIS WILKINS, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Dirk Wilkins, Lawrence; and Rod Wong, son of Kai Wai and Jane Wong, Lawrence, were named to the spring semester Dean's List at Duke University, Durham, N.C.
