THE MAY 10 MEETING of the Lone Star 4-H Club was called to order by president Lori Lemesany. Roll call was answered by naming your favorite flower. Community leaders reported that a Leader's Forum is scheduled for October in Wichita. Pre-entries for the Douglas County Free Fair are due June 30. The remaining summer meeting schedule is July 12 at the Fishburns and Aug. 9 at the Pinnicks. The program was a rabbit project group presentation. The members demonstrated how to hold a rabbit, what to feed and how to groom one. Hosts were the Skinner, Hinshaw/Jennings, Fishburn and O'Doniel families. The meeting was adjourned by saying the club pledge and motto.

SUNNY VALLEY EEU met June 8 at the home of Dorothy Davis, who gave the lesson on "Who Gets Grandma's Yellow Pie Plate," a talk about the transfer of non-titled property to the next generation. A garage sale is planned for Aug. 7 at the Shultz home, and a committee was appointed to handled the details. Members of the group will host the buildings on June 26 at Old Jefferson Town. The next meeting will be Sept. 14.
