Was columnist George Will ever in the armed services and how many children does he have?
Will, an author and Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist, said in a telephone interview Thursday from Washington that he didn't serve in the military.
He has four children, including a son who is a lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Will's column is syndicated by the Washington Post Writers Group and appears in the Journal-World. He was born in Champaign, Ill., in 1941 and was educated at Trinity College and Oxford and Princeton universities. Before entering journalism, he taught political philosophy at Michigan State University and University of Toronto and served on the staff of the U.S. Senate.
