Burglaries and thefts reported

  • A television, compact disc stereo system and 40 CDs valued on a police report at $1,450 were stolen between 2:45 a.m. and 11 a.m. June 5 from a residence in the 1700 block of West 24th, police reported Monday.

Police reports

  • Police arrested a 33-year-old Lawrence man after he allegedly exposed himself to a 49-year-old woman and to officers at 6:17 p.m. Saturday in the 2500 block of West Sixth. The man posted a $150 cash bond and is scheduled to appear in court June 23.
  • A 78-year-old Lawrence woman told police she was the victim of an aggravated robbery Friday afternoon at Kmart, 3106 Iowa. Sgt. Richard Nickell said a white male about 5 feet 10 inches and 140 pounds wearing a white shirt and white hat stole the woman's purse about 3 p.m. in the parking lot. The woman told police she held on to the bag and screamed, and then the man pushed her down to the ground and pulled on the purse until its straps broke, Nickell said. An unidentified black male was with the suspect, and they left together in a small gray vehicle. The woman estimated her loss, including the purse and its contents, at $140.
