Services for Dale L. Stevenson, 73, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Stevenson died Tuesday, July 27, 1999, at Stormont Vail Hospital, Topeka.

He was born Dec. 26, 1925, in Ottawa, the son of Leslie A. and Pearl E. (Oswald) Stevenson. He moved to Lawrence in 1958.

Mr. Stevenson served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a contractor, retiring in 1987. He owned Stevenson Olds-GMC from 1964 to 1971. Before moving to Lawrence, had owned the Clover Farm Grocery Store, Wellsville.

He was a member of the Arcacia Lodge No. 9, A.F. & A.M., Dorsey-Liberty Post No. 14, American Legion, and Mt. Oread Aerie No. 309, FOE, all of Lawrence. In Wellsville, he was a member and past worthy patron of the Order of Eastern Star.

He married Ruth A. Head on Aug. 2, 1947, in Wellsville. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Jo Elaine Blevins and Nancy K. Baker, both of Lawrence; his father and stepmother, Leslie and Edythe Stevenson, Lawrence; a sister, Eloise Kerr, Lawrence; a brother, Raymond, Hernando, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to service time Thursday at the mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to the Dale Stevenson 4-H Award, and they may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
