Graveside services for Mabel A. Transmeier, 96, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Transmeier died Friday, July 16, 1999, at Colonial Manor.

She was born May 29, 1903, in Lone Star, the daughter of Lewis and Katherine Elizabeth (Dreher) Lawson. She moved to Lawrence at age 16.

Mrs. Transmeier worked at Weaver's Department Store and as a cook for Millers Barbecue.

She married Ernest Albert Transmeier on March 3, 1923, in Kansas City, Kan. He died in October 1960.

Survivors include two sons, Cecil Transmeier, Lawrence, and LeRoy Transmeier, Nortonville; a daughter, Letha McCrary, Lawrence; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

A son, Marvin Lee Transmeier, died Aug. 25, 1987, and a grandson died in 1971.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
