Services for Robert Revenew, 74, Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Revenew died Tuesday, July 13, 1999, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born Feb. 19, 1925, in St. Clair Township, Mich., the son of Frank and Nellie (McCartney) Revenew.

He graduated from Liberty Memorial High School. He moved to Lawrence in 1946 from Michigan.

Mr. Revenew served as a medic in the Navy during World War II, and owned a retail liquor store from 1949 to 1961. He then worked in the records service bureau for the Internal Revenue Service, Topeka, until 1987, retiring as chief of the bureau.

He was a member of Dorsey-Liberty Post No. 14; American Legion; Elks Lodge No. 595; B.P.O.E., Exhalted Ruler in 1961; the Retail Liquor Assn.; and Trinity Lutheran Church.

He married Maxine Stavros on Feb. 20, 1943, in Washington, D.C. She died Dec. 31, 1997.

Survivors include two daughters, Katherine Ott and Janet S. Revenew, both of Lawrence; a son, Richard, Lawrence; a sister, Betty Bentz, Yale, Mich.; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

A son, Robert Jr., preceded him in death.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church, and they may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
