Bartlesville, Okla. -- Lawrence's Raiders fell to Fort Smith, Ark., 7-6, Monday in the semifinals of the Winget Legion baseball tournament.
The Raiders, who went 3-1 at the tourney, had defeated the same team, 5-4, on Sunday. The setback snapped a nine-game Lawrence win streak.
"We faced a real good ballclub today," Lawrence coach Lee Ice said. "The kids fought back. We were down 2-0 and tied it 2-2. We were down 4-2 and tied it again. We were coming from behind all day."
Fort Smith went on to win the entire tourney, beating the hosts from Bartlesville, 8-6, in the championship game.
Dustin Myers went 3-for-4, while Cooper Chapin, Riley Scott and Jim Lewis each had two hits. Scott and Lewis were named to the all-tournament team.
The Raiders, 19-8 overall, will meet Topeka 400 at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Free State's field.
