Topeka -- Memorial services for Lora Lee Reineman, 85, Topeka, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Highland Chapel, Topeka. Inurnment is planned for later in Carson Cemetery, Ector, Tex.

Mrs. Reineman died Monday, July 5, 1999, at her home.

She was born May 6, 1914, in Bonham, Tex., the daughter of Charles L. and Montee (Nelms) Weddle. She graduated from Bonham High School in 1932 and Texas Tech University in 1937. She earned her registered nurse certificate from Lubbock General Hospital.

Mrs. Reineman was a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps and served during World War II. She retired from nursing in 1979.

A volunteer at Topeka State Hospital, she also volunteered with a parental stress hotline, a mental health association and the Kansas Children's Service League. She was chosen as Hospice volunteer of the year.

She was a member of the Alpha Chi Honor Society at Texas Tech University, a charter member of Common Cause, and a member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church.

She married Howard E. Reineman on April 16, 1949, in Austin, Tex. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Earl Reineman, Lawrence; a daughter, Ruth Reineman, Topeka; two brothers, Joe T. Weddle and Robert Weddle, both of Bonham, Tex.; and two grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to St. Philip's Episcopal Church, 3860 S.E. California Ave., Topeka 66609.
