5:30 p.m.-7 p.m.: Housing and Neighborhood Development Advisory Committee meeting, lower level conference room, city hall, Sixth and Massachusetts.

Lawrence Public Library bookmobile: 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Prairie Park, 29th Street and Whitmore Drive; 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at John Taylor Park, North Seventh and Walnut streets; 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at South Park, south of 11th and Massachusetts streets; 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Clinton Park, Fifth and Illinois streets.

FRIDAY

5:30 p.m.: Bus service starts from downtown public parking lots to Burcham Park for annual fireworks display. Fireworks scheduled for dusk in the park, Second and Indiana streets.

MONDAY

Canceled: Douglas County Commission, county courthouse, 11th and Massachusetts.

TUESDAY

9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m.: Health screening for people 60 and older. Lecompton Community Building. A fee will be charged. Sponsored by the Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department.

10:30 a.m.-11 a.m.: Storytime for 3-year-olds through elementary school, Paretsky Children's Room, Lawrence Public Library, 707 Vt. Storytime for 2-year-olds, library auditorium. Registration required for 2-year-olds.

4 p.m.-6:30 p.m.: Farmers' Market, city parking lot in the 1000 block of Vermont.

6:45 p.m.: Lawrence City Commission, city hall, Sixth and Massachusetts.
