A former prominent Kansas City attorney helped develop a $50,000 donation for a foreign language computer teaching classroom at Kansas University.

Charles and Charlotte Curry of Salem, S.C., and Key Largo, Fla., made a $10,000 gift to the KU Endowment Association for establishment of a fund in honor of Frank Bangs, one of Mr. Curry's former fraternity brothers.

The Curry Foundation -- Mr. Curry serves as chairman, while Mrs. Curry serves as president -- pledged $40,000 for the language laboratory.

Charles Curry graduated from KU in 1940 and spent much of his career in banking. He was treasurer of the Democratic National Committee in the 1980s.
