The Baldwin Bird Club will hold its January meeting at 7:30 tonight in the multipurpose room at Baldwin Elementary School.
There will be a short business meeting followed by a presentation entitled "Manakins of Tropical America," given by Kim Bostwick, from the Museum of Natural History at Kansas University. Roger Boyd will give a brief report on the Christmas Bird Count, conducted Jan. 2.
Rotary Club dinner
set for Jan. 30
The 14th annual Rotary Club dinner for the Old Castle Dancers will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, in the Baldwin Junior High School cafeteria. Tickets are $4.50 for adults and $3.50 for students. The meal will include spaghetti, sourdough garlic bread, salad and beverage. Desserts, made by dancer families and friends, will be available for an additional cost. The Old Castle Dancers will use funds from the dinner to support three trips during the coming spring.
Fit and Fun Club meets
The Fit and Fun Club met Jan. 14 at the Wellsville Community Center for a potluck supper and a game of pitch. Hosts were Letha and Bill Lytle. Celebrating birthdays were Mildred Allen, Maxine Kreutziger, Elden Lyon and Lynn Whitaker
Nadine Harrick, club president, explained the origin and purpose of the Fit and Fun Club and outlined the year's agenda. The club meets twice a month to share supper and play games to stimulate the mind both socially and mentally. The next meeting will be Jan. 27.
