Services for Paul F. Miller, 76, Lawrence, are pending and will be announced by Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.

Mr. Miller died Friday, Jan. 1, 1999, at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born June 6, 1922.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Miller, of the home.

Lucille Evans Oxandale

Services for Lucille Evans Oxandale, 97, Lawrence, are pending and will be announced by Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.

Mrs. Oxandale died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Everett Eugene Ponton

West Plains, Mo. -- Services for Everett Eugene Ponton, 73, Tonganoxie, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Fowler Cemetery.

Mr. Ponton died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998, at the Tonganoxie Nursing Center.

He was born Nov. 2, 1925, in Minneapolis, Kan., the son of Dick and Daisy Ponton. He moved to Tonganoxie in 1996 from Kansas City, Kan.

He was a World War II Navy veteran and had worked at Inland Cold Storage Co. until retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Minneapolis United Methodist Church.

He married Una Roop Wilcox on May 23, 1959, in Kansas City, Mo. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a stepson, Kenneth Wilcox, Bonner Springs; a stepdaughter, Darlene King, Ash Flat, Ark; and a half sister, Evelyn Summers, Salina.

Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie, is in charge of local arrangements.

Lawrence C. Brown

Valley Falls -- Services for Lawrence C. Brown, 89, Valley Falls, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, at the Valley Falls United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Valley Falls Cemetery.

Mr. Brown died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998, at a Topeka hospital.

He was born Dec. 22, 1909, in Muscotah, the son of Fred and Ellen Clark Brown.

He farmed in the Valley Falls area from 1937 to 1953. He also owned and operated a John Deere Equipment and Implement Co. and had worked for the Needham Implement Co. in Valley Falls.

He also had owned and operated the Brown's Firestone Tire Service in Effingham for several years.

He was a member of the Valley Falls United Methodist Church and the I.O.O.F. Lodge in Valley Falls. He had also served one term as the mayor of Effingham.

He married Goldie May Shafer on March 1, 1928, in St. Joseph, Mo. She died on Aug. 6, 1952. He then married Ruth L. Smith Frakes in September of 1953. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Lawrence E. "Skeet," Topeka, and Jim, Austin, Tex.; a daughter, Ruby Allen, Strasburg, Co.; three stepsons, Bud Frakes, Roger Frakes and Ronnie Frakes, all of Valley Falls; a stepdaughter, Patricia Jackson, Valley Falls; two brothers, Kenneth,Valley Falls, and Leonard, Las Vegas; 10 grandchildren; 23 stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at the Barnett Funeral Home, Oskaloosa.

The family suggests memorial donations to the American Cancer Society; they may be sent in care of the Barnett Funeral Home, 820 Liberty, Oskaloosa, 66066.

Terrell Malott Graham

Services for Terrell Malott Graham, 44, Lawrence, are pending and will be announced by Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

Mrs. Graham died Friday, Jan. 1, 1999, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include her husband, Jack, and three children, Justin, Mason and Haley, all of the home.

The family suggests memorial donations to La Leche League International, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
