A man was arrested early Sunday after being thrown out of the Laughing Dog Saloon and threatening an employee late Saturday, police said.
Lawrence police arrested Joseph Worth, 41, Lawrence, on a charge of aggravated assault Sunday.
Witnesses told police that Worth was ejected from the bar at 1910 Haskell after becoming intoxicated around 11:30 p.m. Saturday. They said he then threatened to "cap" an employee, Jerry Spurlock, 32, Lawrence, if he wasn't let back inside the bar.
Police said witnesses saw Worth lift up his shirt, revealing the butt of a pistol showing from his waistband. By the time police arrived, he was gone. They arrested him early Sunday; at that time he had no gun.
He was booked at 1:23 a.m. Sunday into Douglas County Jail, where he was being held Sunday night. His bail had not been set.
