— A memorial Mass for William Frederick Streib, 83, Topeka, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Holy Name Catholic Church, Topeka. Inurnment will be held at a later date at St. Mary's Cemetery, Clinton, Iowa.

Mr. Streib died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999, at Brewster Place in Topeka.

He was born June 28, 1915, in Clinton, Iowa, the son of William Peter and Dorothy Norskow Streib. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1933, and from the University of Iowa in 1940 with a bachelor's degree in commerce. He moved to Lawrence in 1958 and then to Topeka after retiring.

He served in the U.S. Navy as a communications officer in World War II.

He worked for 37 years for E.I. duPont de Nemours Inc. at the company's cellophane plants in Clinton, Iowa, and Tecumseh.

He married Gloria McSpadden on Aug. 11, 1975, in Miami, Okla. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a daughter, Laurie Streib Evans, Peculiar, Mo.; a son, Larry William, Delray Beach, Fla.; a sister, Helen Streib McGuiness, Des Moines, Iowa; and two grandchildren.

Two daughters, Helen and Julia Streib, died in infancy.

The family suggests memorials to the Helping Hands Humane Society Shelter, 2625 NW Rochester Rd., Topeka 66617.

Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, Topeka, is in charge of arrangements.
