Stuart Little

  • Southwind Twelve, 3433 Iowa.

Bicenntennial Man

Could any one mouse be cuter than Robin Williams? He plays a family robot who longs to be human. The ordinarily dour Sam Neill is his good-natured human master.

  • Southwind Twelve, 3433 Iowa.

Anna and the King

Spectacular, non-musical redo of the meetings of minds (and hearts) between a proper Englishwoman and the king of Siam stars Jodie Foster and Chow Yun-Fat.

Ride With the Devil

Civil War drama tells of the bloody conflict on the Kansas-Missouri border, with pro-Southern bushwhackers waging war on the Union army. With the busy Tobey Maguire, Skeet Ulrich and Jewel.

  • Southwind Twelve, 3433 Iowa.

The Green Mile

Tom Hanks plays a compassionate death-row guard who discovers that a convicted inmate, played by Michael Clarke Duncan, has healing powers. Hey, there's even a pet mouse. This Stephen King story is directed by "The Shawshank Redemption's" Frank Darabont.

  • Southwind Twelve, 3433 Iowa.

Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo

"Saturday Night Live's" Rob Schneider plays a clumsy fish-tank cleaner who attempts to care for the aquarium of a well-paid male escort. When the stud is out of town, the bozo tries to take his place as a gigolo.

The World Is Not Enough

Pierce Brosnan is in sleek form as James Bond, helped and/or hindered by Robert Carlyle, Sophie Marceau, Denise Richards and Judi Dench.

Being John Malkovich

A clever and outrageous piece of whimsical fantasy about how the discovery of a passage into the title actor's brain changes the lives of a puppeteer (John Cusack), his wife (Cameron Diaz) and a sexy coworker (Catherine Keener). An Alice in Wonderland film that slyly raises all sorts of philosophical questions about the nature of reality and self and deals with them in a genially unhinged way.

  • Liberty Hall Cinemas, 644 Mass.

Controversial, comedic, contemporary religious parable stars such earthy types as Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Salma Hayek, George Carlin, Linda Fiorentino, Janeane Garofalo and Chris Rock.

  • Plaza Six, 24th and Iowa.
