Atchison -- Services for Melvin E. Koch, 53, Atchison, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Claytonville Cemetery, north of Everest.

Mr. Koch died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999, at the Atchison Hospital.

He was born Dec. 17, 1946, in Atchison, the son of Hubert and Marjorie (Fletcher) Koch. He graduated from Atchison High School in 1965.

Mr. Koch was a mechanic for 22 years at the former Collards Chevrolet, Leavenworth; as shop supervisor in auto mechanics at Ft. Leavenworth; and for eight years as the owner and operator of Koch Auto Repair, Atchison.

He married Carolyn Oxley in September 1971. They later divorced.

Survivors include his fiance, Corinne Bender, of the home; two daughters, Ginger and Melinda Koch, both of Topeka; his mother, Marjorie Koch, Atchison; a brother, Warren Koch, Lawrence; two sisters, Dolores Servaes, Atchison, and Judith Wenzlaff, San Antonio.

Friends may call from 1 p.m. to service time Sunday at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or the United Methodist Church. They may be sent in care of the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, 800 Kansas Ave., Atchison 66002.
