Sprint sells D.C.-area
Sprint Corp. said Tuesday it sold its wireless network infrastructure in the Washington/Baltimore area to Omnipoint Corp. for an undisclosed sum.
The deal covers Sprint's Global System for Mobile, or GSM infrastructure, which includes base stations, antennas, switches and other network equipment.
It excludes Sprint PCS Group's Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) wireless network, PCS spectrum licenses, customer accounts or employees in the area.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
