Topeka -- Memorial services for Clifford Frederick Childers, 82, Harveyville, will be at 11 a.m. today at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Cremation was held, and graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today at Keene Cemetery, Keene.
Mr. Childers died Thursday, Dec. 23, 1999, at his home.
He was born Nov. 23, 1917, in Lebo, the son of Fredrick C. and Carrie (Smith) Childers. He moved to Topeka in 1952.
Mr. Childers farmed near Waverly before moving to Topeka, and then worked for Conroy Construction and the City of Topeka Water Department, retiring in 1982.
He married Elizabeth Joy Rudolph on May 8, 1943, in LeRoy. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include five sons, Clifford Eugene, Harveyville; Wayne, Lawrence; Howard, Auburn; and Roger and Ronald, both of Topeka; two daughters, Linda Davis and Hildred Ross, both of Topeka; a brother, Albert, Wheatland, Wyo.; two sisters, Ruth Arb, Wichita, and Anna Louise Wilcox, Kingman, Ariz.; 25 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
