Pratt -- More and more hunters, anglers and boaters have been visiting the Wildlife and Parks website.

At www.kdwp.state.ks.us, hunters, anglers, boaters and birdwatchers may purchase licenses, selected permits, and boat registration renewals from the department's website online, as well as subscribe to Kansas Wildlife and Parks magazine."

Anyone with an Internet connection and a printer can purchase, and print, many department issuances 24 hours a day, seven days a week over a secured system using any major credit card. Unique security codes are printed on the licenses to ensure their validity.

While anyone is welcome to purchase a license from their home computer, private vendors will still offer the same department issuances as in the past.

Many major KDWP offices will also sell licenses and permits using the department web site in the near future, instead of writing them out by hand.

Information may be the main reason most folks surf Kansas "outdoors" online. Detailed information on hunting, fishing, boating, nongame and state parks is just a click away. Education opportunities are also included.

Even detailed information on legislative activity, fishing and waterfowl reports, and places to participate in outdoor activities are included.

Another popular feature of the Wildlife and Parks website is the download feature. Many department brochures, such as hunting and fishing regulations, can be downloaded to the visitor's computer.
