One of Lawrence's largest employers has a familiar new boss.

Daryl Morgison is the new chief executive officer and president of E and E Display Group, which designs and manufactures point-of-purchase displays and store fixtures at its plant at 910 E. 29th.

Ed White, the company's chairman of the board, announced Morgison's promotion Monday.

"Over the past 22 years, Daryl has had a key role in helping E and E grow to its current size of 400,000 square feet and 325 team members," White said.

Morgison takes over for White, who had been CEO of the family-owned business since he took over leadership of the board from his mother, Eleanor White. Ed White's father, Roger White, founded the company in 1956 by making a display on his kitchen table.

Morgison, a Baldwin resident, joined E and E as a shipping supervisor in 1977, when the company had grown to about 50 employees.

Since then, sales have increased about 900 percent as Morgison worked his way up to buyer, purchasing manager, administrative manager, sales manager, plant manager, general manager and vice president. He became president in 1994.

E and E's major clients include Hallmark Cards, Kellogg's, Best Buy, Day Spring Cards, Whirlpool Corp., General Mills and Sprint.
