Topeka -- Services for William Walter Housholder, 74, Tecumseh, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Parker-Price Mortuary. Burial will be in Topeka Cemetery, with military honors by a U.S. Army detail from Fort Riley.

Mr. Housholder died Thursday, Aug. 19, 1999, at his home.

He was born July 3, 1925, in Chicago, the son of Robert Robinson and Mary Alma (Ferguson) Housholder. He moved to Tecumseh in 1961 from Topeka.

Mr. Housholder served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1953, and was a member of the Operating Engineers Local No. 101 for 40 years. He was also a member of Moose Lodge No. 555.

He married Bettie L. North on Nov. 7, 1953, in Topeka. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include four daughters, Lucinda Koshenina, Wichita, Tamie Housholder, Topeka, Jackie McDaniel, Lawrence, and Holli Housholder, of the home; four sons, William J. and Daniel L., both of Topeka, John R., Emporia, and Roger R., Tecumseh; four sisters, A. Louise Wissinger, Greensburg, Pa., A. Elizabeth Shaffer, Albemarle, N.C., R. Jane Griffin, Colorado Springs, Colo, and Hazel M. Fugate, Topeka; two brothers, John R., Plant City, Fla., and Donald F., Chandler, Ind.; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Friends may call after 11 a.m. Sunday at the mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
