VENTURE GROUP 2691, the older Scouts of Troop 52, recently returned from a two-week wilderness backpacking high adventure at the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. The six Scouts and three adult advisers backpacked more than 70 miles. Earning their Philmont arrowhead patches were these Scouts: Joshua Spradlin, trek leader; Wesley Cook, Brian Craig, Brandon Newman, Michael Ornburn and Victor Tuttle. Adult advisers were Bob Anderson, Brian Culwell and Herb Tuttle.

VICTOR TUTTLE, Troop 52, spent the summer as a camp counselor at Camp Naish near Bonner Springs. He worked primarily in the Nature Lodge as the assistant director and as a campsite host. During Boy Scout sessions, he taught these merit badges: reptiles and amphibians, mammal study, insect study, soil and water conservation, and space exploration. He was active in the Order of the Arrow induction ceremonies and was camp host at the Navajo camp for the Webelos sessions and taught the Naturalist Activity Pin.
