Ottawa -- Services for Carrol Miller, 71, Pomona, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona.

Mr. Miller died Thursday, Aug. 19, 1999, at Ransom Memorial Hospital, Ottawa.

He was born March 18, 1928, in Pomona, the son of Roy A. and Ruth L. (Prewitt) Miller. He graduated from Pomona High School in 1945.

Mr. Miller had been a self-employed truck driver, school bus driver for USD 287 and mechanic at Harlans Car and Truck Repair, Ottawa.

He married Vada M. Johnson on Sept. 3, 1950, in Pomona. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a daughter, Patricia Freeby, Rossville; two sons, David, Emporia, and Michael, Olpe; his mother, Pomona; two sisters, Charlotte Chambers, Baldwin, and Treva Simmons, Manhattan; two brothers, Harlan, Ottawa, and Melvin, Pomona; and eight grandchildren.

A son, Kenneth Lee Miller, died earlier.

Friends may call until the service hour at the mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

The family suggests memorials to the Pomona Recreation Baseball Program, and they may be sent in care of the Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa 66067.
