Services for Nancy L. Boswell, 65, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will be in Sutton Cemetery, southwest Douglas County.

Mrs. Boswell died Monday, Aug. 16, 1999, at Stormont-Vail Hospital, Topeka.

She was born Oct. 18, 1933, in Clinton, Ind., the daughter of Burton Henry and Opal (Martin) Lee. She moved to the area in 1952.

Mrs. Boswell had been a preschool teacher, and had worked at the Ballard Community Center, Headstart, UCDC, Creative World and the Children's Learning Center. She had also been a paraprofessional at Pinckney and East Heights schools.

Mrs. Boswell was a member of the Plymouth Congregational Church and had directed its children's choir. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, where she was unit historian in 1961 and 1962. She was also a member of the Tri-Kappa and Beta Sigma Phi sororities and the Eastabrook Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Indiana.

She married William F. Boswell on June 15, 1952, in Rockville, Ind. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Melodie B. Woerman, Topeka, and Marcia Boswell-Carney, Lawrence; a son, Burton W. Boswell, Lawrence; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the West Side Presbyterian Church, 1024 Kasold Dr.

The family suggests memorials to Ballard Community Center, and they may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
