Sunflower Datavision workers were baffled by a problem that left many eastern Kansans without Internet access Thursday night.
"At this point, we're still looking into it," Sunflower Datavision manager Patrick Knorr said.
The problem, which Knorr said did not originate locally, seemed to focus primarily on the servers America Online and Lycos. Sunflower was receiving calls Thursday night from people unable to access the Internet. Most of the calls were from people who said they were trying to use America Online, he said. Other Internet providers did not seem to be affected.
Sunflower workers think the problem may have originated with a larger connection in the Kansas City area. The problem had not yet been rectified late Thursday.
