Kansas basketball signee Kirk Hinrich registered a game-high 10 assists in last Saturday's Derby Classic High School All-Star game played before 8,076 fans at Louisville's Freedom Hall. Hinrich's team won, 138-132.

Hinrich and Virginia recruit Travis Watson of Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Va., were crowned the event's 2-on-2 champions.

Hinrich, a 6-foot-3 guard from Sioux City, Iowa, will play in the Iowa Senior All-Star Games this summer in Simpson, Iowa. Later this summer he'll team with KU signee Nick Collison and a strong Iowa team to bid for the AAU 19-and-under national championship in Cleveland.

Hinrich's dad, Jim, has been named one of four head coaches in this summer's Youth Development Festival June 23-27 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
