Topeka -- Memorial services for Lida Lou Barber, 81, Eudora, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Cremation has been held and inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Barker died Monday, April 26, 1999, at the Eudora Nursing Center.

She was born July 25, 1917, in Lawrence, the daughter of James Earl and Mamie Fay Pearson Daniels.

She was a manager trainer for Payless ShoeSource in Topeka for many years. She was a member of the Philip Billard Post No. 1650 Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Ladies Pharmaceutical Auxiliary.

She married Mason Kendall Barber in 1940. He died in 1958.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Lou Durr, Eudora; a brother, Earl L. Daniels, Lancaster, Calif.; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, 1315 SW Arrowhead Rd., Topeka 66604.
