The Kansas River is expected to crest just above flood stage today at Lecompton and Lawrence.
The river is expected to crest at 18 feet -- a foot above flood stage -- at Lecompton sometime this morning, and at 18.5 feet -- 1/2-foot above flood stage -- in Lawrence this afternoon, said Mike Akulow, forecaster with the National Weather Service in Topeka.
"There could be some low-lying flooding again, outside of the (Kansas River) levy," he said.
Officially, Lawrence received 1.67 inches between Sunday and Tuesday evening, he said.
"We've had a lot of other areas reporting amounts in that range as well," he said.
Forecasters were calling for dry conditions through Saturday.
