Cambridge -- Services for Joseph W. McChesney, 71, Dexter, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Cambridge Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Cambridge Cemetery.

Mr. McChesney died Sunday, April 25, 1999, at William Newton Memorial Hospital, Winfield.

He was born June 3, 1927, in Kaw City, Okla., the son of Harry R. and Mae M. Taylor McChesney. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1945.

He worked as an operating engineer with the Cities Service Gas Co., spending 19 years in McLouth and Tonganoxie. He retired in 1986.

He married Alberta Rowe on March 18, 1950, in Winfield. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Shavaun Vernon, Bendena, and Brenna Dwight, Pennsylvania; his mother, Dexter; a sister, Judith McChesney, Phoenix; and four grandchildren.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Swisher-Taylor & Morris Funeral Home, Winfield.
