Dodge City livestock

Dodge City (ap) -- Kansas feedlot sales Monday:

Confirmed: none. Trade quiet. No sales of slaughter steers or heifers confirmed. Inquiry and demand light. This weeks confirmed sales 49,000 head including 10,900 head of previously contracted or formulated cattle. Few bids 65.00, asking prices mostly 67.00-68.00, last sales Friday mostly 66.00, few 66.25-67.00. Sales FOB feedlot net weight after 4 percent shrink.

St. Joseph, Mo. (ap) -- Quotations for Monday:

Estimated Slaughter Cattle Receipts: 500. Not enough on offer last week to compared prices on slaughter steers and heifers but a definitely firmer undertone. Slaughter cows steady to 1.00 higher. Slaughter bulls steady. Slaughter Steers: choice 3, few 4 1263-1425 lb 63.35-64.50; 1040 lb 61.35 and mostly 4 1562 lb 58.85. Slaughter heifers: choice 3-4 1073-1281 lb 62.00-63.50. Slaughter cows: high cutter, utility and commercial 1-3 breaking 35.00-38.00, high dressing 39.50-40.00; boning 35.00-40.00, high dressing 39.50-43.75, low dressig 32.00-35.50; other cutters 32.00-35.50, high dressing 35.50-37.50, low dressing 29.00-31.00. Slaughter bulls: yield grade 1 1300-2000 lb 43.25-47.50, high dressing 51.75.

Estimated slaughter hog receipts: 600. Compared to Friday, barrows and gilts 50 cents higher; 46-50 percent lean 230-270 lb 26.50-27.00; 44-48 percent lean 270-290 lb 25.50-26.50; 42-46 percent lean package 299 lb 24.00; 48-50 percent lean package 226 lb 26.50.
