Services for Pauline Husted, 90, Lawrence, are pending and will be announced by Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
Ms. Husted died Sunday, April 11, 1999, at Presbyterian Manor.
Survivors include three daughters Mary Kufahl and Carolyn Phillips, both of Lawrence, and Barbara Muiller, Oskaloosa.
Memorial services for Madelynn Lorayne Hayes Gant, 75, Lawrence, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Plymouth Congregational Church. Cremation is planned.
Mrs. Gant died Friday, April 9, 1999, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community.
The family suggests memorials to the Plymouth Congregational Church or Hospice Care of Douglas County, and they may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
JAMES W. GRINTER
Oskaloosa -- Services for James W. Grinter, 78, Liberty, Mo., will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Oskaloosa United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Perry.
Mr. Grinter died Monday, April 12, 1999, at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, Mo.
He was born July 26, 1920, in Perry, the son of William H.H. and Eva Clare Brown Grinter. He graduated from Perry Rural High School in 1938.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II as an aircraft mechanic. He was a jeweler and was the owner of Grinters Jewelry Store in Oskaloosa from 1956 until retiring in 1994.
He was a member of the Oskaloosa United Methodist Church and Oskaloosa Chamber of Commerce and was the 1994 recipient of the Oskaloosa Hall of Fame Award. He was a member of the Larner-Segraves American Legion Post No. 36, Oskaloosa, and the Masonic Lodge No. 415 AF&AM;, Perry. He was also a member of the Lawrence Gem and Mineral Club and the Downtown Cafe Coffee Club, Oskaloosa.
He married Anna Winnifred Hibbs on May 23, 1943, in Wichita. She died April 24, 1982.
Survivors include a son, James W. Grinter Jr., Liberty, Mo.; a daughter, Linda Rodgers, Huntsville, Mo.; a brother, Donald E. Grinter, Mission Hills; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after noon today at Barnett Funeral Home, Oskaloosa, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today.
