LHS 11th, FSHS 12th
at golf tournament
Louisburg -- Lawrence High placed 11th and Free State High 12th on Monday at the Shawnee Mission Northwest Invitational at Club of the Country.
Mike Samp led the Lions with an 81 round. Charlie Santaularia paced the Firebirds with an 82 round.
Blue Valley North won 316 strokes. LHS finished with 342 strokes and Free State 351.
Lion Morgan places
third in Manhattan
Manhattan -- Lawrence High junior Ryan Morgan shot a 3-over-par 75 to take third at the Manhattan Invitational at Manhattan Country Club on Monday.
Host Manhattan won with 309 strokes. LHS placed seventh at 333 and Free State eighth at 337.
No Free State scores were made available.
KU lacrosse team
nabs two of three
Kansas University's women's lacrosse club beat Indiana and Knox College, but fell to host Illinois in a tournament last weekend in Champaign, Ill.
KU clipped Indiana, 12-8, and blizted Knox, 12-3, but bowed to Illinois, 16-8.
Kristen Bloom scored 11 goals in the three games to lead Kansas. Lara Ratican had eight and Jessica Kibbe six.
