Laser pointers are extremely dangerous when aimed at the eyes. Would the Douglas County district attorney file a charge of assault, battery or possibly aggravated battery if this were done intentionally?
It would depend on the facts of the particular case, Douglas County Dist. Atty. Christine Kenney Tonkovich said.
"At this time they're not classified as an illegal weapon, so it wouldn't automatically be a crime," she said. "We would look at the facts to determine if it would be appropriate to file charges."
