LHS-SM North twinbill

reset for Saturday

Lawrence High's baseball doubleheader with Shawnee Mission North, rained out on Monday, has been rescheduled for Saturday.

The Lions (1-1) will play Shawnee Mission North (0-4) at noon at Ice Field.

Oskaloosa rocks

Burlingame twice

Oskalosoa -- Renee Lawson baffled Burlingame with a perfect game, striking out 14 of 15 batters, in Oskaloosa's 10-0 five-inning softball victory over the Bearcats on Wednesday. Oskaloosa completed the sweep with an 18-2 victory behind the pitching of Heather Robbins.

In the first game, Oskaloosa's Lyjah White went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and Robbins scored twice and drove in two runs.

In the second game, Robbins tossed a two-hitter and struck out 10 batters. Lindsey Abbott banged two doubles and had four RBIs. Robbins went 2-for 2 with three runs and two RBIs.

The Bears (4-0) will play host to Holton tonight.

FSHS football to meet

Free State High football coach Bob Lisher will hold a meeting for all prospective players and their parents at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the FSHS gym.

SM South sweeps FSHS

Shawnee Mission South swept Free State, 18-5 and 14-0, in sophomore baseball on Wednesday at the Youth Sports Inc. fields. The Firebirds (1-3) will play host to Olathe South on Tuesday at YSI.
