LEROY CECIL SHELTON
Topeka -- Memorial services for Leroy Cecil Shelton, 37, North Las Vegas, Nev., will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church, Topeka. Cremation was held.
Mr. Shelton died Saturday, April 3, 1999, in a helicopter crash northwest of Las Vegas.
He was born Aug. 15, 1961, in Dodge City, the son of Cecil and Lola Deyoe Shelton. He had lived in North Las Vegas for more than two years.
He was a flight nurse with the Flight for Life program at Valley Hospital, Las Vegas. He had previously worked for six years at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka, and for five years at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, during which time he became a registered nurse.
He was a member of the National Flight Nursing Assn.
He married Lori A. Mulligan on April 1, 1989, in Topeka. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include his father, Dodge City; four sisters, Dixie Link, Topeka, Carol Brandle, North Platte, Neb., Carmen Wilds, Collyer, and Cee Countryman, Kinsley; and a brother, Neil, Dodge City.
Friends may call from noon to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Penwell-Gabel Highland Chapel, Topeka.
