In KU's opener, junior Amanda Reves and senior Moira Donovan had 15 kills apiece as the Jayhawks smashed Eastern Michigan, 15-4, 15-12, 15-7.

Mary Beth Albrecht chipped in with 10 kills and eight digs, and Laura Rohde added 12 digs and 47 assists for KU.

"In Game One, we played very clean. In Game Two, we were very uneven. In Game Three, tied 7-7, we picked it up and played well. Overall, I'm very pleased,'' KU coach Ray Bechard said of the win over EMU (1-8).

In the nightcap, Saint Louis University rallied for a four-game victory over KU, 8-15, 17-15, 15-13, 15-5.

Albrecht paced KU with 15 kills and 15 assists in the loss to the Billikens (11-1). Rohde had 14 digs and 58 assists, and Nancy Bell added 14 kills and eight digs.

The loss dropped Kansas' season mark to 9-2.
