A 37-year-old Lawrence man appeared in a Douglas County court room Monday, where he was charged with molesting his two teen-age stepsons.
The man waived the formal reading of the charges, which are four counts of criminal sodomy, two counts of indecent liberties, two counts of aggravated indecent liberties and two counts of solicitation of a child.
Sgt. George Wheeler said the allegations cover a period that started about two years ago and ended recently, when the alleged victims told a family member.
Douglas County District Court Judge Paula Martin left the man's bond at $100,000 and scheduled a preliminary hearing at 1:45 p.m. Nov. 5.
Lawrence attorney Randy McGrath was appointed to defend the suspect in the case. The suspect told Judge Martin he could live with his father in Prairie Village if and when he posted bond. Martin said he was forbidden from returning to the children's house if he posted bond.
Police arrested him Friday night, after they investigated the allegations last week.
