The 12th annual Scotch Share the Warmth program is ready for another season.

Scotch Fabric Care will be collecting coats and blankets, in good condition beginning Monday and through Nov. 19. Anyone wishing to donate coats or blankets may drop them off at the six Scotch locations in Lawrence or the 10 Topeka locations.

There is an emphasis again this year on collecting children's coats, and men's and women's large sizes coats. Scotch is also asking for blankets, hats, scarves, matched mittens and gloves.

Groups interested in collecting coats for the program are asked to call Scott Shmalberg, president of Scotch Industries Inc., to make arrangements.

In the last 11 years of the program, Scotch has collected and cleaned 93,727 coats for the needy in Topeka and Lawrence.

Scotch donates all time and materials to prepare the coats for distribution. The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary in Topeka sorts the coats and distributes them free to those in need. The dates and times of distribution will be announced in November.
