On Oct. 15, 1898, the Lawrence Journal had an ad which read: ``A GREAT SUCCESS. A factory that would employ 100 people would be a great thing for Lawrence. But you cannot get it if you listen to some people who want to run every industry out of town. Buy home made goods, they are the best. Port Arthur can't be beat; we manufacture more than 25 different brands. BOENER BROS.'' The factory was located on the southwest corner of Pinckney (now Sixth) and Massachusetts Streets.
