The Jayhawks dipped to 11-7 overall and 1-5 in the Big 12. Meanwhile, Texas improved to 11-2 overall and 6-0 in the Big 12.

Junior Amanda Reves had nine kills to lead the Jayhawks. Junior Mary Beth Albrecht had eight kills.

Senior setter Laura Rohde had 25 assists for KU.

``We played better than the statistics look,'' KU coach Ray Bechard said. ``The road has been wearing us out and we are looking forward to coming home and regrouping.''

KU will play host to Iowa State at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Allen Fieldhouse. That match will kick off Late Night With Roy Williams activities. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Zomer wins twice

Austin, Texas -- Kansas sophomore Micah Zomer won two men's tennis matches on Saturday to advance to the quarterfinals of the pre-qualifying draw at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-American Championships. Zomer beat East Central's Ted Misteia, 6-4, 6-2, and Georgia State's Nick Brochu, 6-1, 3-6, 6-1.

KU netters advance

Columbus, Ohio -- Kris Sell, Cheryl Mallaiah and Julia Sidorova advanced to their singles flight finals on Saturday at the Ohio State Invitational.
