Services for Alton C. "Pip" Pippert, 90, a longtime Kansas University employee and farmer, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th St. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Pippert died Friday, Nov. 27, 1998, at Southwinds Rehabilitation and Care Center in Lawrence. He was 90.

Mr. Pippert was born March 21, 1908, in Worden, the son of Henry G. and Emma Elm Pippert.

He moved to Lawrence in 1947 from the Worden area.

Mr. Pippert worked as a farmer for 40 years and was a supervisor in the KU building and grounds department for 21 years.

He was a member of First Christian Church in Lawrence.

He married Gladys Marie Ford on April 7, 1932, in Worden. She died Sept. 14, 1990.

Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie M. Taylor and Barbara K. Pippert, both of Lawrence; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will greet friends from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. today at the mortuary. The family suggests memorials be made to Hospice Care of Douglas County in care of the mortuary.
