Now that the school bond issue has passed, how soon will Woodlawn School get its new library and improvements to the windows?
A new library at Woodlawn Elementary and new windows to the school was one of the main components of the school bond issue, which Lawrence school district voters overwhelming approved Nov. 3.
The addition, renovation and installation of windows and roof repairs is estimated at $1,000,000.
According to the district booklet on the bond issue, "We will schedule renovations and repairs to existing facilities in a manner that causes the least disruption to the educational environment. Most of that work we expect to complete during the summer months of 1999 and 2000."
