Moving beyond the stereotypes of mental illness is the goal of a satellite teleconference that will air from noon to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Plymouth Congregational Church, 925 Vt.
The Lawrence downlink of the teleconference is sponsored by Helping Hands of Douglas County, with Overfield Corp. providing the satellite link. The teleconference is designed to help those who are dealing with mental illness, and their family members or caregivers.
Originating from Nashville, the teleconference will include a panel of in-studio participants and discussions via telephone and at downlink sites. Participants will be able to call in questions and comments throughout the teleconference.
People planning to attend must call 877-500-1414 by 11 a.m. Monday and leave a message that includes the number of people attending.
