Athens, Ga. — Kansas' No. 11-ranked doubles team of senior Enrique Abaroa and junior Luis Uribe stopped a Florida duo in the opening round of the NCAA tournament Thursday.
Abaroa and Uribe defeated Nathan Olvierholser and Jeff Morrison, 6-3, 6-7 (4-7), 6-3.
The two Jayhawks will face Harvard's James Blake and Thomas Blake who defeated Baylor's David Hodge and Johann Jooste, 6-3, 6-4.

Juniors Lester Smith and Marlea Woodman have joined senior Candy Mason and freshman Scott Russell as Kansas University qualifiers for the NCAA Outdoor track championships next week in Buffalo, N.Y.
Smith qualified in the triple jump. His best leap of 52-8 3/4 was the leading mark in the Big 12 and ranks 13th nationally. Woodman's 176-4 throw in the discus, a school record, ranks No. 17 in the country.
Smith and Woodman had been provisional qualifiers for the NCAA Outdoor meet. They learned Thursday they made the cut.
Mason will compete in both the heptathlon and pole vault while Russell will throw the javelin.
Huron lures Andrews
Eudora -- Eudora High's Jotham Andrews, a three-time state high school wrestling medalist, has signed a letter of intent with Huron (S.D.) University. Andrews finished third in the Class 3A state meet in 1995 and 1997 and fourth in 1996. Andrews' prep record was 123-16.
