The fourth annual Relay for Life, a fund-raising event for the American Cancer Society, will be held from 2 p.m. Saturday through 8 a.m. Sunday at Haskell Stadium.
In the event, members of teams take turns walking along a track for the 18-hour event.
Cancer survivors will be honored at 2 p.m., and luminaries will be lit and the names of those being honored will be read at dusk Saturday.
There are about 17 teams registered for this year's event, said organizer Carol Wallace.
About $22,000 was raised last year.
Anyone interested can stop by and make donations during the event, she said.
``We have a lot of people who want to sponsor a luminary for a loved one,'' Wallace said.
``All cancer survivors are welcome to come and walk with us. If they just want to come out and be present we'd love to honor them.''
Relays for life are being conducted in 2,200 locations around the country.
Wallace said the event is more than a fund-raiser.
``It also is a celebration of life -- to celebrate cancer survivorship,'' she said.
