— Services for Madonna Burton-Kunkler, 81, Leavenworth, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Tonganoxie. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Leavenworth.

Mrs. Burton-Kunkler died Wednesday, May 27, 1998, at St. John Hospital, Leavenworth.

She was born March 7, 1917, in Gilman, Ill., the daughter of Alfred and Julia St. Peter Gerdes. She worked as a clerk for Milgrams Grocery Store, Kansas City, Kan.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Tonganoxie.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Doyle Burton Sr. and Harley Kunkler.

Survivors include a son, Doyle Burton Jr., Chesapeake, Va.; two daughters, Donna Burton, Tonganoxie, and Debra Burton-Carpenter, Leavenworth; two stepdaughters, Judy Toole, Phoenix, and Joyce McGhee, Blue Eye, Mo.; a sister, Irene Blought, Indianapolis; eight grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the Quisenberry Chapel, Tonganoxie, where the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
