Oskaloosa — Services for Alvin Clifford Thomas, 80, Eudora, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant View Cemetery, Oskaloosa.
Mr. Thomas died Tuesday, May 26, 1998, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born Feb. 12, 1918, in Brookfield, Mo., the son of Clifford and Hazel Crawford Thomas. He received a degree in music from the University of Missouri, Columbia.
He had lived in Eudora for more than 30 years. He was a real estate agent in Brookfield, Mo., for many years and had worked at the Hercules Sunflower Ordinance Plant in DeSoto for several years. He was the head custodian at West Junior High until his retirement.
He married Viola Ray Beard on April 15, 1966, in Eudora. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include three sons, David, Hutchinson, John, Kansas City, Mo., and Todd, Lawrence; two daughters, Nancy O'Herron, Las Vegas, and Debra McClelland, McLouth; a stepbrother, George Ewing, Honolulu; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Barnett Funeral Home, Oskaloosa.
