  • Proclaim July 30 ``Doris Bateson Fraternal Order of Eagles Day.''
  • Approve licenses recommended by the city's department of administrative services, including one to sell cereal malt beverages at the city's new Eagle Bend Golf Course, 1250 E. 902 Rd.
  • Appoint Johnny Herod to the Lawrence Housing Authority, and reappointment Mary Giese to the Lawrence-Douglas County Planning Commission, as recommended by Mayor Marty Kennedy.
  • Set a 2 p.m. June 9 deadline for bids for handling a sanitary sewer project at 12th and Mississippi streets; and for handling the second phase of the city's overlay and curb-repair program.
  • Approve ordinances, on final reading, to establish: ``No parking, no stopping, no standing'' along the east side of Mississippi Street, between Fifth and Sixth streets; yield signs on Sharon Drive at Trail Road and on Ponderosa Drive at 24th Street; ``no parking'' along the east side of Jana Drive, between Harvard Road and Holiday Drive; and a 35 mph speed limit on Folks Road, between Sixth Street and Trail Road.
  • Authorize Mayor Kennedy to deed property at 1133 N.Y. to Tenants to Homeowners Inc.
  • Approve site plans for Eagle Trailer Co., 920 E. 30th; and Fellowship Baptist Church, to be located at 710 Locust.
  • Approve a resolution authorizing the city to sell certain public securities transferred to the city. The stocks are from Payless Cashways Inc., which reorganized under bankruptcy protection and paid off its utilities debts in stock, City Manager Mike Wildgen said.
  • Approve an agreement with Wakarusa Township concerning maintenance of roads that share a common boundary between the city and the township.
  • Listen to City Manager Mike Wildgen's introduction of Gayle Martin, the city's new communications coordinator.
  • Receive the Lawrence Arts Commission's recommendation for buying artwork at the new $14.1 million Lawrence/Douglas County Health Facility, now under construction across Maine Street from Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
  • Receive a draft notice for the sale of 2.79 acres of city property at the northwest corner of Sixth Street and Wakarusa Drive.
  • Receive and approve skate park plans for Centennial Park, southeast of Sixth Street and Rockledge Road.
  • Receive a request from DreamWings L.L.C. for use of a hangar at Lawrence Municipal Airport.
  • Receive public comment and consider approving a ``Five Year Plan Project List'' for certain road improvements with partial financing from the Kansas Department of Transportation.
  • Establish a study session date concerning state highway plans and city-county road coordination issues.
