TRAFFIC HELD UP

A man collapsed Friday night in the intersection of Massachusetts and 23rd Streets , blocking traffic for less than half an hour.

An adult male from Lawrence, possibly in his mid-30s, collapsed due to unspecified medical problems just after 9 p.m., authorities said. He was not struck by any vehicles.

Emergency personnel blocked off eastbound traffic on 23rd Street. Traffic was rerouted through the two westbound lanes for approximately 20 minutes.

The patient was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, treated and released.
